US President Donald Trump asserted that the war in Gaza had come to an end as he began his flight to the Middle East, where he will be attending an international peace summit on an agreed ceasefire in Gaza.

"The war is over, okay? You understand that?" Trump told reporters on Air Force One after the plane took off from Joint Base Andrews in Maryland for his first stop, Tel Aviv. He was responding to a question about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not having acknowledged the end of the conflict.

Trump said he believed the ceasefire agreement, based on a 20-point proposal he announced, would remain intact.

"(There are) a lot of reasons why it's going to hold. But I think people are tired of it. It's been centuries, not just recent. It's been centuries," he said.

US President Donald Trump said that trade tensions with China will be resolved, posting a reassuring message days after threatening 100% tariffs.

"Don't worry about China, it will all be fine," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

He characterized Chinese President Xi Jinping's rare earth export controls as a temporary misstep.

"Highly respected President Xi just had a bad moment. He doesn't want depression for his country, and neither do I," he said.

"The U.S.A. wants to help China, not hurt it," Trump added.

France’s reappointed Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu unveiled his new Cabinet including 34 ministers to make up a new government.

"A mission government is appointed to provide a budget for France before the end of the year," Lecornu wrote on the US social media company X’s platform.

The new government will include 34 ministers in total, down from 36 in the government of former Prime Minister Francois Bayrou, broadcaster BFM TV reported.

In the new Cabinet, Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, Justice Minister Gerald Darmanin and Culture Minister Rachida Dati are among the officials who will remain in their current posts.
