ANKARA (AA) - April 26, 2012 -
The prime minister of Jordan said Thursday that after the crackdown in Syria, 110,000 Syrians entered his country.
Speaking to AA correspondent, PM Awn Shawkat Al-Khasawneh said that they were not sure yet whether to classify these Syrians as refugee or not, because there was no visa procedure between the two countries. He added that's why a great number of Syrians have entered his country.
When asked whether Syria would be discussed during his talks in Ankara, Al-Khasawneh said he would meet President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Syria would also be discussed naturally because this issue concerned both Turkey and Jordan. He added his visit did not aim to hold talks on Syria.
Al-Khasawneh said he would hold talks on works regarding the constitution in Jordan with Turkish officials.
Answering a question on water issue between Jordan and Syria, Al-Khasawneh said this problem has existed between the two countries for long years, stating that there was no tension right now. Al-Khasawneh added he believed the problem would be solved in a friendly way.
