IRBIL (AA) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki stated on Wednesday that they were absolutely against any foreign intervention in Syria. Speaking at an Iraqi television channel, al-Maliki said international public opinion and Arab world should come together and build a surveying commission, suggesting that "this committee shall decide whether chemical weapons were used or not." Calling on Arab countries not to let their territorries be used for any possible foreign intervention in Syria, al-Maliki noted, "Arab countries should treat carefully and with responsibility not to let Syria turn into a war area." "The problems must be solved through peaceful means," al-Maliki said, calling on also to start a mobilization of aid for the Syrian victims to return to their countries and to build provident funds for the Syrian refugees, who fled to the neighbouring countries. Al-Maliki added they were ready to act in line with these suggestions but would never admit any foreign military intervention.
