EU foreign ministers on Monday urged Bosnia Herzegovina to form a new government as soon as possible, said the EU high representative.

At the end of the EU Council for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini said that the ministers agreed it is necessary to continue "intensive work with all political leaders in Bosnia Herzegovina".

She added that the ministers said a government should have been formed as soon as official results of Oct. 7 elections were released.

"Bosnia needs to 100 percent focus on the reform agenda ... which is linked to the European perspective of the country," she said.

She added that the authorities in Bosnia should also focus on the reform of the electoral law.

Bosnia and Herzegovina on Oct. 7 held presidential and parliamentary elections -- the eighth in the country since the end of the Bosnian War nearly 20 years ago.
