CAIRO
A member of the Egyptian Presidential Election Committee, Hatem Bicato said that the announcement of the result of Egypt's presidential runoff has been postponed.
The Committee had earlier stated that it would announce the results of Egyptian presidential runoff on Thursday, June 21.
Speaking at a press conference, Bicato said that they decided to postpone the announcement of the result of the presidential runoff after certain objections were filed against the runoff.
Egyptians voted on Saturday and Sunday in a presidential runoff between the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, Mohammad Mursi, and former prime minister under former Mubarak regime, Ahmed Shafiq.
The attorneys of Mursi and Shafiq filed around 400 complaints with the Committee, Bicato stressed.
Bicato did not give a certain date for the announcement of the runoff results.
The Egyptian media earlier in the week said that Mursi had won the presidential runoff based on unofficial results.
