Egypt, Jordan begin military drill

Egypt has recently carried out several military drills with France, U.K. and Italy

CAIRO

Egypt and Jordan began a joint military drill on Tuesday, according to the Egyptian military.

In a statement, the army said the Aqaba 4 exercise between forces of the two countries will continue till December 21.

The statement said Jordanian forces have arrived in Egypt for the training, without giving any further details.

The exercise involves units of ground and naval forces, air defense forces, special forces and military engineers of both countries, the army said.

The drill seeks "the implementation of many activities and events on land and sea," the statement said.
