BAGHDAD (AA) - August 27, 2012 - U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden will visit Iraq next week to discuss latest developments in Syria.
Diplomatic sources have told the Anadolu Agency (AA) that Biden would be accompanied by a delegation of high level U.S. officials during his trip to Iraq.
Biden's visit comes at a time when clashes between the Syrian regime and opposition forces have escalated.
Biden's visit will be the highest level visit by a U.S. official following the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq.
Sources said that Biden would discuss Syria, Iran's nuclear program, the political situation in Iraq and regional developments while in Baghdad.
