ISTANBUL (AA) - March 26, 2013 - Seaplane flights of the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality that will reduce travel time to 18 minutes between Turkey's northwestern provinces Bursa and Istanbul, will begin on April 1.
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality public transport unit Burulas held a press conference at Halic port in Istanbul to promote the seaplane flights.
President of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Recep Altepe delivered a speech at the opening and said, "Each of our seaplanes has a capacity of 19 passengers. The seaplane will arrive to Gemlik port of Bursa in 18 minutes from Istanbul. We know the value of time and therefore making distances closer between the financial hub Istanbul and Bursa is very meaningful for us."
Altepe also added that number of flights would increase if there would be higher demand.
Tickets can be bought from the ''www.burulas.com.tr'' website or ''444 99 16'' phone number.
Seaplane flights will take place 6 days a week except for Tuesdays. They will depart at 8.30 a.m. and 6 p.m from Halic and at 9.15 a.m. and 18.45 p.m. Turkish local time from Gemlik.
