German giants Bayern Munich were crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions in the final game against Moroccan Raja Casablanca by scoring two early goals at Marrakesh Stadium to clinch their fifth title of 2013.
Bayern Munich's Brazilian center-back Dante opened the scoring at the sixth minute and the Bavarians were on fire going two goals ahead when Thiago Alcantara found the net at 22nd minute.
Bayern Munich's French international Franck Ribery was chosen as the best player of the tournament and won the golden ball award, his teammate Philipp Lahm was deemed worthy for silver and Muhsin Yacur from the Moroccan side Raja Casablanca got the bronze ball.
"This is a glorious year for us, I congratulate my players and celebrate our championship," said Pep Guardiola, Bayern's coach, after the match.
Raja Casablanca's coach Faouzi Benzarti said he was happy with the performance of his team despite the loss against the Bavarians, describing the defeat an "honorable one".
FIFA Club World Cup triumph was the fifth title "Die Bayern" claimed in a glorious year of trophies after winning UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, German Cup, and Bundesliga titles.
