MAZAR-I SHARIF, Afghanistan
At least 25 Taliban fighters were killed Tuesday in clashes with security forces across the country, according to officials.
"Two militants died and 11 others were arrested during operations conducted in Balkh," the province's Chief of Police told Anadolu Agency.
He also said ammunition was confiscated during the operations by Afghan security forces.
In two towns in northern province Faryab at least 20 militants and one police officer were killed, and three injured during armed clashes, according to the chief of city security.
Clashes continue in Sar-e Pol, another northern province, where at least three militants and one police officer were killed and 9 injured, the city’s chief of security said.
