Turkish wrestlers claim medals in World Championship
Taha Akgul wins gold medal and Yakup Gor wins bronze medal in World Wrestling Championships in US
ANKARA
Turkish wrestler Taha Akgul won the gold medal Saturday in the men's 125-kilogram freestyle category in the 2015 World Wrestling Championships in Las Vegas, in the U.S.
Akgul beat Azerbaijani wrestler Jamaladdin Magomedov 10-0 in final at the Orleans Arena and became world champion for the second time in a row.
Another Turkish wrestler Yakup Gor won the bronze medal Saturday in the men's 70-kilogram freestyle category.
Gor beat Belarussian wrestler Azamat Nurykau 9-8 at the Orleans Arena.
The 2015 World Wrestling Championships boast three disciplines -- Men's Greco-Roman, Women's Freestyle and Men's Freestyle -- and were held between Sept. 7 and 12.
