Türkiye's largest warship TCG Anadolu, built indigenously, has been visited by some 290,000 people in Istanbul and the Aegean Izmir province.

On April 17-23, the ship was visited by over 140,000 people at Istanbul's Sarayburnu Port, and by nearly 150,000 people on May 3-15 at Izmir's Alsancak Port.

The ship will re-open to visitors in Istanbul on Wednesday as of 2 p.m. (1100GMT).

Starting service on April 10, the ship also displays recent Turkish defense projects, including the first indigenous uncrewed fighter jet Kizilelma, uncrewed combat aerial vehicle Bayraktar TB3, and new Altay tank.

TCG Anadolu, built at Sedef Shipyard in Istanbul, is 230 meters (754 feet) in length and 32 m (105 ft) in width, and has an area of 9,200 square meters (99,028 sq-ft).

Six helicopters can land or take off simultaneously, while uncrewed combat aerial vehicles can also be deployed at the ship's flight deck.

The ship, with a full-fledged hospital and two operation rooms, can host around 1,200 staff.

It has a capacity to carry 13 tanks, 27 marine assault vehicles, six armored personnel carriers, 15 trailers, and 33 various vehicles.
