ISTANBUL

Türkiye's National Defense Minister Yasar Guler on Monday met with Syrian Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Murhaf Abu Qasra in the Syrian capital Damascus.

Guler and Abu Kasra held a bilateral meeting, according to a National Defense Ministry post on Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

No further information on the content of the meeting has yet been provided.

During his visit to Damascus, marking the first anniversary of the fall of the Assad regime, Guler has been accompanied by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin.
