A Turkish soldier was martyred in a PKK terrorist attack in southeastern Diyarbakir province’s Bismil district Wednesday, Turkish security sources said.
According to the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, PKK struck the soldier while he was driving in a private vehicle.
A search operation to nab the attackers has begun.
The PKK – also listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, over 350 security personnel have been martyred and thousands of PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
