Turkish parliament has begun debating a draft law on the Kurdish 'solution process', which will see the disarming of PKK terrorists as well as their reintegration back into their homes, social and political life, said Turkish Deputy PM Besir Atalay on Wednesday.
Turkish MPs will be discussing the bill throughout the month of July.
Atalay was attending a session of parliament's internal affairs commission, the first-stop for discussions of the new draft law. Discussions then continue in the general assembly.
"The ultimate aim of the solution process is to seize on the joint spirit which covers all people of Turkey," said Atalay.
The government has pledged democratic reforms to empower minorities, particularly the Kurdish people -- by far Turkey's largest minority, representing 18 percent of the population.
Turkey entered peace talks with jailed Kurdish militant leader Abdullah Ocalan 2012 and a ceasefire between the Turkish government and the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, was declared in March 2013.
