Turkish National Security Council's (MGK) regular meeting of October has ended.
The three hours lasting meeting took place under the leadership of Turkish President Abdullah Gul in the Cankaya Palace in Turkey's capital Ankara.
Commander of the Turkish Land Forces and Full General Hulusi Akar, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces Full Admiral Bulent Bostanoglu, Commander of the Turkish Air Forces and Full General Akin Ozturk and Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie Forces and Full General Servet Yoruk have attended the meeting for the first time.
MGK published an announcement after the meeting, where it stated that the ongoing incidents in Syria creating threat for the security of the region and the country itself and the conducted international efforts to end the dissent and the counter measure were reviewed.
The announcement also said, "Operations to provide the peace and welfare of our people were discussed and additional measures to be taken within this scope were evaluated."
Recent condition in Iraq was also examined in the announcement, where the concern over the increasing acts of violence and terrorism was also stated. It was stressed that supporting Iraq would continue on the purpose of establishing permanent stability.
