ANKARA
Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc has praised the launch of Anadolu Agency's French broadcast, calling it a "great success."
Arinc took part in AA's picnic event on the 94th anniversary of its founding in capital Ankara on Sunday.
This year, the anniversary marks the launch of AA's French broadcast, the seventh publishing language for the agency’s wire services.
"The inception of AA's French broadcast is a great success; I wish you good luck," Arinc told members of the AA staff.
The rise in the number of AA’s publishing languages would be a great help in boosting the agency’s international visibility, Arinc added.
The picnic event took place in the agency’s premises in Golbasi, a popular retreat 20 km south of Ankara.
The French wire service comes as part of AA’s centennial vision to rank among the world's five most influential news agencies by 2020.
