Turkey to be IMF's executive board director in 2014

ANKARA

Turkey will be the head of executive directors board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2014.
Turkey will also be the acting director of the board in 2012, stated Turkish Treasury on Wednesday.
The board has 24 members.
After Turkey chaired the board in 2014-2016 period, Czech Republic or Hungary will undertake the post for 2016-2018 term.
Then, Turkey will again chair the board in 2018-2020 period.
IMF executive board is responsible for conducting the day-to-day business of the IMF. It is composed of 24 directors, who are appointed or elected by member countries or by groups of countries, and the managing director, who serves as its chairman.
