Greece has confirmed it has made a €450 million ($484 million) payment to the International Monetary Fund.

But Greek officials warned late Thursday the country could run out of funds for banks and public services as early as April 24, after a Greek government demand for emergency funding was turned down at a meeting of European finance ministers on Wednesday night.

Eurogroup finance ministers said they wanted to see more progress on the list of economic reforms proposed by the Greek government, which are currently under review.

The Greek government must also find €1.7 billion ($1.82 billion) for public sector wages and pensions by the end of the month, but it is not clear it will be able to do so.
