ISTANBUL (AA) - July 5, 2012 - The 22nd Congress of the International Academy of Legal Medicine --IALM 2012-- began in Istanbul on Thursday and will continue until July 8.The congress is being hosted by Turkish Justice Ministry, Forensic Medicine Institute, Istanbul University and IALM at Halic Congress Center.
Nearly 1,500 scientists and experts from 80 countries are participating in the congress.
Ten workshops, 60 panel discussions and 1,109 presentations will be held within the scope of the congress.
Latest doctrinal, scientific, and technological advances in legal medicine and forensic sciences will be introduced in the workshops, advanced courses, seminars, panels and lectures as well as presentations during the congress.
Delivering the opening remarks of the congress, Turkish Minister of Justice Sadullah Ergin said that Turkey made great efforts to strengthen the Forensic Medicine Institute, increase opportunities for physical infrastructure and strengthening human resources.
We are proud to see that the Forensic Medicine Institute has become a highly developed, fast and trustable organization, Ergin underlined.
We want the Institute to be more visible globally, Ergin also said.
