MARDIN
World Bank Turkey Director Martin Reiser said on Thursday that the south-eastern province of Mardin portrayed Turkey as an economic model.
Reiser visited the Governor of Mardin Turhan Ayvaz on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters while meeting Reiser, Governor Ayvaz said that Mardin was a shining star of the region.
Mardin was included in the new stimulus package. There has been an increase in the number of companies coming from the western provinces for investment in Mardin, Ayvaz also said.
Reiser, in his part, said that he had arrived in Mardin to learn about the city's transformation and future plans.
Mardin is a highly attractive place for businesspeople working with Iraq, Reiser added.
