Istanbul court sentences businessman Cem Uzan to 18.5 years in prison

ISTANBUL

The Eighth High Criminal Court of Istanbul on Friday sentenced Turkish businessman Cem Uzan to 18 years 5 months and 20 days in prison for "major embezzlement".

Uzan was also sentenced to pay 4.4 billion Turkish lira (TL) by the Istanbul court.
Cem Uzan was not at the court on Friday.
An arrest warrant was issued for Cem Uzan.
Uzan was the leader of the Young Party.
