ISTANBUL (AA) - August 5, 2012 - The leader of Iraqiya's Parliamentary bloc in Iraq, Salman al-Jumaili on Saturday said that the Iraqi government's criticism of Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's recent visit to Kirkuk was unjustified.

Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA) by phone on Saturday, al-Jumaili stressed that Davutoglu's visit to Kirkuk took place after the Iraqi government was informed about the visit.
"It is hard to understand the reaction of the Iraqi government. The Iraqi government's reaction was unfair. Turkey has always made positive contributions to Iraq. The Iraqi government's feeling discomfort about Davutoglu's visit to Kirkuk was shocking," al-Jumaili stressed.
On the other hand, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Usame El Nuceyfi on Saturday asked the Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari to inform the Iraqi Parliament about Davutoglu's recent visit to Kirkuk.
Following a recent visit of Davutoglu to Kirkuk, the central Iraqi government had said that they were not informed about such a visit. In return, Turkey summoned the Iraqi Ambassador in Ankara to its Foreign Ministry and told the ambassador that the Iraqi statements were not acceptable.
