Abdel-Hamid Mamdouh, one of the senior officials of World Trade Organization (WTO), said that foreign press wrongly resembled Gezi Park events to Arab Spring.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Mamdouh said Turkey was an attractive country for foreign investors.
Mamdouh evaluated the differences between Gezi Park events and Arab Spring, and said despite some common points, the two cases were mainly different from each other.
“The protests in Egypt was against a dictator, a broken state structure, and empoverishing policies," he said, and added that in Turkey there was no problem in developing the economy and life standards.
Mamdough said Turkey had been drawing the attention of foreign investors in the last 10 years, and added, “Investors want to know whether the rules of the game would change soon or not. I believe Turkey attributes importance to all of investors’ criteria.”
