Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces (SNC) stated the Assad regime was willing to buy time by attending the 2nd Geneva Conference.
"If the Assad regime doesn't concur with the outcomes of the 1st Geneva Conference suggesting democratic transformation and ending autocracy, in principal there is no point in approving to participate in the 2nd Geneva Conference. Those speaking on behalf of the regime until now are using all opportunities to buy time. The decision to attend the conference is the new move of the regime. SNC is concerned that the condition of Assad staying in power until 2014 can be put forth in the 2nd Geneva Conference due to the move of the regime and the conflicting statements of Russia," SNC said in a statement released.
"The regime using terror against civilians is a clear indication of its intention not to end the crisis," SNC added.
