ANKARA (AA) - September 21, 2012 - Chief Judge of the Turkish Constitutional Court, Hasim Kilic, on Friday said that the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) may no longer accept appeals from Turkey if convinced over the Turkish Constitutional Court's effective review.
Speaking to the Ankara representatives of various media organizations on personal appeals in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Friday, Kilic stressed that the ECHR would follow-up the process in Turkey for two years.
"Direct appeals mechanism to the ECHR seems closed until 2014. The ECHR did not put into writing about its rejection of Turkish appeals. However, the ECHR encourages appeals to the Turkish Constitutional Court," Kilic also said.
