AA announces winners of "photos of the year" contest 

ANKARA  

Anadolu Agency (AA) announced the winners of the "AA's photos of the year" contest. 

Hundreds of thousands people voted for the pictures via AA's Turkish, English and Arabic websites. 
Under the "News" category, Majdi Fathi's photo, depicting the funeral of the two babies who lost their lives at the Israeli attack in Gaza, got the first place. 

Nurten Aslan's photo of the boy sitting next to his martyred father's coffin in a helicopter became the second best photo at the same category, while the photo of the little girl crying at his martyred father's funeral on her knees by Cem Ozdel got the third place. 
Meanwhile, the photo of the lamb in a shepherd's felt bag by Ismail Duru got the first, Cem Ozdel's photo depicting a miner got the second and Mehmet Kaman's photo of the circumambulation around the Kaaba got the third place in "Life" category. 

Top 10 photos in the ''News'' category are as follows;

9- The moment Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan taking the photo of acclaimed Turkish photo journalist Ara Guler. (Burak Akbulut - Istanbul)
10- Crying Rakhine woman with her child on her lap. (Dilek Mermer - Bangladesh)
