Turkish wrestler wins bronze in European championships

ISTANBUL

Turkey's Recep Topal won a bronze medal in the 2019 European Wrestling Championships in Romania on Wednesday.

In men's 61-kg freestyle final, Topal beat Romania's Nikolai Okhlopkov to claim the bronze in the Bucharest tournament.

On Tuesday, Turkish wrestlers won four medals (two gold, one silver and one bronze) at the international event.

Turkey's Mustafa Kaya won a gold medal by beating Azerbaijan's Aghahuseyn Mustafayev 6-2 in men's 70-kg freestyle final.

Suleyman Atli also won gold medal after beating Russia's Muslim Sadulaev 8-3 in men's 57-kg freestyle final.

Selahattin Kilicsallayan clinched a silver medal in men’s 65-kg freestyle final after defeated by Azerbaijan's Haci Aliyev, while Muhammet Nuri Kotanoglu defeated Ukrainia's Oleksii Domanytskyi to win a bronze medal in men's 79-kg freestyle final against

Meanwhile, Turkey's Taha Akgul beat Russia's Anzor Ruslanovitch Khizriev 8-1 in men's 125-kg freestyle to face Georgian Geno Petriashvili in the final on Wednesday.
