Turkish swimmer Boyaci wins gold in 2022 Madeira World Para Swimming Championships

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish swimmer Sumeyye Boyaci won a gold medal Monday in the Women's 50m Backstroke S5 Final at the 2022 Madeira World Para Swimming Championships.

Boyaci bagged gold with a time of 41.58 while her compatriot Sevilay Ozturk was awarded a silver medal with a time of 44.45 and Italian athlete Monica Boggioni won a bronze medal with a time of 46.32.

Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu congratulated Boyaci and Ozturk.

"Sumeyye and Sevilay, who added a new one to their success, once again made us proud with the medals they won. I wish our national athletes' success will continue."
