Turkish side wins CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League

 SZCZECIN, Poland

Turkish team Eczacibasi VitrA -- beating Italian side Unendo Yamamay 3-0 in the final -- has been crowned the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League winners in women's category in Poland on Sunday.

Skipping past another Turkish club VakifBank 3-1 in semi final, Eczacibasi VitrA won the title after beating Italian team to the trophy.

Unendo Yamamay took the 16-12 lead until the second technical timeout. However, Eczacibasi VitrA controlled the first set after Maja Poljak and Jordan Quinn Larson's remarkable performances, winning it 25-22.

Eczacibasi VitrA were stronger in the second set of the match, breaking the resistance of the Italian team. The Turkish side made it 2-0 after winning the second set 25-20.

Making a good start to the third set, Eczacibasi VitrA was leading the set 8-6 until the first technical timeout and then increased the gap to four (12-8). Italians got the 13-13 draw but Eczacibasi VitrA took the 16-15 lead before the second technical time out. In the last part Eczacibasi VitrA played more resiliently and won the set 25-21 and the match 3-0.

CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League winners, Eczacibasi VitrA players and technical staff were jubilant after the match.

Meanwhile, VakifBank won against Poland’s Chemik for the third place in the tournament.
