Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Round 6 gets underway

ISTANBUL

The sixth round of the 2018-2019 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season began on Thursday.

Two Turkish teams played on Thursday as Anadolu Efes beat Spain's Herbalife Gran Canaria 90-94 in an away match; while Darussafaka Tekfen was defeated by Germany's Bayern Munich 116-70 away.

The last EuroLeague finalist Turkey's Fenerbahce will play against Spain's Baskonia in an away match on Friday.

EuroLeague competitions bring Europe's top basketball clubs together.

Sixteen teams are competing this season -- four Spanish, three Turkish, two Russian, two Greek and one team each from Germany, Italy, Israel, Lithuania and Montenegro.

Turkey is in the tournament with Anadolu Efes, Fenerbahce and Darussafaka.

Round 6 matches are as follows:


Thursday:

Bayern Munich (Germany) 116-70 Darussafaka Tekfen (Turkey)

Maccabi FOX (Israel) 66-87 Real Madrid (Spain)

AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan (Italy) 85-90 CSKA Moskova (Russia)

Herbalife Gran Canaria (Spain) 90-94 Anadolu Efes (Turkey)


Friday:

Khimki (Russia) - Barcelona Lassa (Spain)

Buducnost VOLI (Montenegro) - Zalgiris (Lithuania)

Panathinaikos (Greece) - Olympiakos (Greece)
