Turkey wins 3 more medals at European Youth Olympics Swimmer Berke Saka wins a silver medal in boys’ 200-meter backstroke

ANKARA

Turkish athletes won three more medals Thursday, including two gold, at the 2019 Summer European Youth Olympics Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Swimmer Beril Bocekler won a gold medal in the girls’ 200-meter freestyle.

Ozlem Yildiz earned a gold medal in the girls’ 57-kilogram category in judo by beating her Russian opponent Kseniia Galitskaia in the final.

Swimmer Berke Saka won a silver medal in the boys’ 200-meter backstroke.

Turkey has earned a total of 18 medals, including eight gold, in this Youth Olympics.

Russia is leading the medals table with 42 (18 gold, 10 silver and 14 bronze).

Host nation Azerbaijan is in second with 20 medals (nine gold, six silver and five bronze).

Baku 2019 will end on July 27.
