Tamyra Mensah-Stock becomes 1st Black woman athlete to win Olympic wrestling gold

ANKARA

Tamyra Mensah-Stock from the US became the first Black woman athlete to secure an Olympic wrestling gold.

She defeated Nigeria's Blessing Oborududu 4-1 in the women's freestyle 68kg final at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday.

Alla Cherkasova of Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan's Meerim Zhumanazarova each won the bronze medals.
