Carmelo Anthony will ink a non-guaranteed contract with Portland Trail Blazers, an NBA insider said late Thursday.

"Portland is signing Carmelo Anthony, league source tells ESPN," said Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter.

"Anthony will join the Blazers on upcoming road trip, per source. Power forward was the position that Blazers were most vulnerable and injury to Zach Collins only amplified void there. ‘Melo comes for a specific role and need," he said.

"Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey and Anthony's agent, Leon Rose of CAA Sports, stayed in contact about Anthony since the preseason, sources said. Conversations picked up over the past two days, and Olshey and coach Terry Stotts talked directly with Anthony on Thursday before reaching an agreement," Adrian Wojnarowski said on ESPN.

He also said that with this contract, ten-time NBA All-Star will join the Blazers on their upcoming six-game road trip and he will earn $14,490 for each day.

Throughout his career, Carmelo Anthony played for Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets, averaging 24.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

In addition, Anthony was the NBA’s scoring champion in 2012-13 when he averaged 28.7 points for New York Knicks.

He last played for Houston Rockets, playing only in 10 games for the franchise last season, before being a free agent.
