Lakers front office get busy with free agent signings after losing Kawhi Leonard race to cross-town rivals Clippers

ANKARA
The Los Angeles Lakers made a total of six official free agency signings on Saturday after losing Kawhi Leonard to cross-town rivals the Los Angeles Clippers.
DeMarcus Cousins agreed to sign a 1-year, $3.5 million deal with the Lakers, while Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, and Alex Caruso are reportedly signing new contracts to return to the team.
"The Miami Heat had interest in Cousins, but several Lakers players -- including Anthony Davis -- helped convince him on joining LA, league sources tell ESPN," said sports journalist Adrian Wojnarowski in a tweet.
Earlier on Saturday, Danny Green, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Quinn Cook also all agreed to deals with the Lakers.
Mentioning the new signings' and returnees' Twitter accounts, superstar Lebron James late Saturday tweeted: "Officially welcome to the #LakeShow. 'Run it back'. The journey begins now."
