RABAT, Morocco

Morocco, which is set to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, is rapidly emerging as a true football nation thanks to its ongoing investments.

Speaking at the Future Media Initiative conference in the capital Rabat, which brought together more than 200 journalists, content creators and media professionals, Tarek Najem, General Secretary of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, emphasized that Morocco is investing heavily in top-level sports and urban infrastructure.

Najem said they aim to deliver a complete experience for players, fans, media professionals and partners through exemplary logistical and security arrangements.

"We hope your stay in Morocco is enjoyable and that you can witness firsthand the significant efforts the Kingdom is making to renovate its stadiums, strengthen its infrastructure and refine its organization as it prepares to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and, later, the 2030 FIFA World Cup," he said.

He thanked the members of the press for attending the program and concluded his remarks by expressing his hope to meet them at football events.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to take place from Dec. 21, 2025 to Jan. 18, 2026, marking Morocco’s second time hosting the tournament since 1988.

The 2030 FIFA World Cup will be co-hosted by Morocco along with nearby Spain and Portugal in June and July 2030, with the opening matches taking place in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay to mark the tournament's centenary, making it the first World Cup to be held across three continents.

It will also be the first World Cup held in North Africa and the first held anywhere in Africa since 2010.
