Medals found their owners in eight disciplines Saturday at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics.

On the eighth day of the Games in Italy, medal events were held in alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, short track speed skating, skeleton, ski jumping and speed skating.

Brazil’s Lucas Pinheiro Braathen won gold in the men’s alpine skiing giant slalom, earning his country its first medal in Winter Olympics history. Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt took silver, while compatriot Loic Meillard claimed bronze.

In the women’s biathlon 7.5-kilometer sprint, Norway’s Maren Kirkeeide secured gold. France’s Oceane Michelon won silver and Lou Jeanmonnot took bronze.

Norway captured gold in the women’s 4x7.5-kilometer cross-country skiing relay, while Sweden finished with silver and Finland earned bronze.

In the men’s 500-meter speed skating event, American Jordan Stolz won gold in the Olympic record time of 33.77 seconds. The Netherlands’ Jenning de Boo took silver, while Canada’s Laurent Dubreuil claimed bronze.

Australia’s Anthony Jakara won gold with 20 points in the women’s dual moguls freestyle skiing final. The US’ Jaelin Kauf secured silver, and compatriot Elizabeth Lemley took bronze.

In the men’s large hill ski jumping category, Slovenia’s Domen Prevc earned gold, while Japan’s Ren Nikaido won silver and Poland’s Kacper Tomasiak took bronze.

Austria’s Janine Flock captured gold in the women’s skeleton in a time of 3:49.02. Germany’s Susanne Kreher claimed silver and Jacqueline Pfeifer earned bronze.

The final medals of the day were awarded in the men’s 1,500-meter short track speed skating category. The Netherlands’ Jens van 't Wout took gold, South Korea’s Hwang Dae-heon won silver and Latvia’s Roberts Kruzbergs secured bronze.

Curling and ice hockey matches were also held.
