Liverpool and Arsenal played to a goalless draw Thursday in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal clash.
Arsenal was reduced to 10 men in minute 24 when Granit Xhaka was shown a red card at Anfield.
But Liverpool failed to take advantage of the extra man for the remainder of the match.
The second leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal clash will be played Jan. 20 at Emirates Stadium.
