A Leicester City defender scored two own goals Friday to give a 2-1 win to Liverpool in an English Premier League match.

Before kick off, the crowd at Liverpool's Anfield Stadium and players from both teams paid homage to Brazilian football legend Pele, who died Thursday at the age of 82.

He had been suffering from colon cancer.

Liverpool and Leicester City observed a minute of applause and wore black armbands to honor Pele.

Leicester City's Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored the opening goal in the fourth minute.

But Belgian defender Wout Faes scored two own goals in minutes 38 and 45.

Liverpool are sixth with 28 points in 16 matches. Leicester City are in the lower ranks with 17 points.

Arsenal are leading the Premier League with 40 points.

In the other match, Brentford beat West Ham United 2-0 at the London Stadium.
