Reigning UEFA Nations League champions Portugal brushed aside Sweden 3-0 on Wednesday to stay top of their group.

A goal from Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva and Liverpool winger Diogo Jota’s brace made sure superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was not missed by Portugal at Lisbon’s Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Ronaldo missed the game after testing positive for COVID-19 earlier in the week.

In the group’s other game, world champions France beat Croatia 2-1, thanks to goals from Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe.

With 10 points from four games, France are now second in League A Group 3, behind Portugal on goal difference.

Croatia are next with three points, while winless Sweden sit bottom of the group.
