MKE Ankaragucu's Spanish star Jese Rodriguez said he has received a lot of love from the football club's fans

Rodriguez, who has just joined the Ankara team and who previously played for important clubs including Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain (PSG), gave his first interview in Türkiye to Anadolu Agency.

"The signing ceremony in Ankara was much better than the one held at PSG," the 29-year-old said.

"I will never forget my experience here. I will do everything I can for this great community. Ankaragucu fans welcomed me very well. I can't wait to play for this beautiful community."

Stating that he will do everything to make his fans happy, Jese recalled that he played with Hamit Altintop, Nuri Sahin and Mesut Ozil in Real Madrid and he has a good relationship with Turkish players.

"Guti influenced my decision to come to Ankaragucu," said the Spanish attacker, naming the Real Madrid legend who joined Turkish team Besiktas for one season in 2010.

"One of the important names I talked to before making this decision was him. He said that Türkiye is a beautiful place and I was very excited by what he said about it."

'Money cannot buy happiness'

Jese stated that his time with PSG did not go as he wanted and he did not approve of the transfer policy of the French club.

"In my personal opinion, money cannot buy happiness. You can have good players, but you can't have a good team." the Spaniard said.

"I have great respect for the quality, career and greatness of the players on PSG's roster. All of them are great players," Jese continued.

"However, football is not a game of names, it's a game of teams. No matter how many big names you have, success does not come automatically. The reason for Real Madrid's success is not because they have big name players like PSG, but because they are a decent team."

'Benzema is being treated unfairly'

Jese Rodriguez said he regretted the fact that his former teammate Benzema, who had a great share in Real Madrid's success, was not awarded the Golden Ball (Ballon d'Or) award.

"Benzema has been treated unfairly for the last two, three years. He deserved to win the Ballon d'Or two, three years ago. He will eventually reap the fruits of his hard work." Jese said.

He said his favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Ronaldo is a really special character. His football is very successful. I'm still in touch with him, our communication continues. For me, the name I will choose in the Ronaldo-Messi comparison is Ronaldo."

The Spanish striker, who has worked with managers including Carlo Ancelotti, Jose Mourinho, Zinedine Zidane, Thomas Tuchel and Unai Emery, said Ancelotti was his biggest inspiration.

"Carlo Ancelotti was one of the best coaches I've ever had in my career. He has an incredible personality. That's the most important thing. His personality comes first, and of course, that he is a very good coach." Jese said, "All the coaches I have worked with have left significant traces on me. If I had to pick a name among them, it would be him."

When Jese was asked about the "best 11 he's played with," he said: "This is a very difficult question. Let me answer that like this: If I had to choose the best three attackers, I would say myself, Ronaldo and Benzema."
