Italy break own world record time with 3:42.032, Denmark grab silver, Australia take bronze

ANKARA 

Italy won a gold medal in the Men's Team Pursuit Cycling at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday with a world-record time of 3:42.032.

The previous record had also been seized by Italy with 3:42.307 on Tuesday.

Denmark grabbed the silver with 3:42.198 and Australia bagged the bronze with overlap against New Zealand.


New world record set in Women's Team Pursuit

Another world record was set in the Women's Team Pursuit by Germany on Tuesday.

The German team bagged the gold medal with 4:04.242, while the UK won silver with 4:10.607 time.

The last world record of 4:10.236, won by Britain at the Rio 2016 Olympics, was improved thrice by Germany in Tokyo 2020.

Team USA achieved a bronze medal with 4:08.04 at the event.
