Football: Turkey's Trabzonspor lose to Juventus

TURIN, Italy

Italian giants Juventus cruised past Trabzonspor on Thursday with a 2-0 win in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 32 at Torinese club's home ground Juventus Stadium.

Juventus' new transfer Italian-Argentine forward Pablo Osvaldo scored the opening goal of the match in 16th minute. Contrary to expectations, a tough match for the Turkish team turned into a balanced game, as in the second half Trabzonspor came close to scoring the equalizer. In the 71st minute Trabzonspor's goal was disallowed by the referee.

Juventus increased their pressure on Trabzonspor towards the end of the game, resulting in a goal scored by French prospect Paul Pogba. In injury time, the 20-year-old midfielder took a pass from teammate Carlos Tevez and put the ball in the back goal.

With the loss, Trabzonspor risk losing out on qualifying for the next round of the UEFA Cup.
