Premier League side Stoke City announced Thursday that the club had transferred Badou Ndiaye from Turkish club Galatasaray.

According to a statement on the club's official website, Ndiaye's transfer was completed for a fee of €16 million. He will be playing for the club for four-and-a-half years.

The Senegalese international became the third player to join Stoke City in January transfer window, following Moritz Bauer from Rubin Kazan and loaned player Kostas Stafylidis, the club said.

"City held off strong competition from rival clubs across Europe to secure the services of 27-year-old Ndiaye, an athletic midfielder with a keen eye for goal," the club said.

Ndiaye joined Galatasaray in August 2017 for a transfer fee totaling €12 million. Previously, he had signed with Osmanlispor in 2015.

Ndiaye has scored 50 goals in 205 club appearances and has been capped eight times by Senegal.
