Football: Results in top 5 European leagues

League leaders Barcelona, Juventus, PSG and Borussia Dortmund lose points but they are still in top of own leagues

Football: Results in top 5 European leagues

Liverpool in Premier League, Barcelona in La Liga, Juventus in Serie A, Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Ligue 1 continue to top their leagues after the latest games in top five European football leagues over the weekend.

In the English Premier League, the reigning champion Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-1 to reach 59 points while Manchester United defeated Leicester City 1-0.

Tottenham also beat Newcastle United 1-0 while Chelsea defeated Huddersfield Town 5-0.

The leader Liverpool with 61 points will face West Ham United in an away match on Monday.

In Spanish football league La Liga, Barcelona drew Valencia 2-2 and lost their first points in the league after 8 matches in a row but they remained at the top of the league with 50 points.

Real Madrid beat Alaves 3-0 to win 3 matches in a row, while Real Betis defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0.

The leader Barcelona are followed by Atletico Madrid with 44 points, trailed by Real Madrid with 42 points and Sevilla with 36.

In Italy's Serie A, leader Juventus is at the top of the league with 60 points despite drawing with Parma 3-3.

Runner-up Napoli beat Sampdoria 3-0 to narrow the gap with the leader by reaching 51 points.

In Germany's Bundesliga, the leader Borussia Dortmund drew Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 to reach 49 points while reigning champion Bayern Munich was defeated by Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 to end winning streak of seven matches.

Bayern Munich are now seven points away from top of the league.

In France's Ligue 1, leader PSG lost 2-1 at Olympique Lyonnais. It was their first defeat in the league this season.

They are still very strong at the top of the league with 56 points followed by Lille with 46 points and Olympique Lyon with 43 points.
