In matchday 25 Chelsea hold the lead by defeating Newcastle United 3-0 in London, and London team Arsenal smashed Liverpool 5-1 in an away match

Football: Matchday 25 ends in Barclays Premier League

Matchday 25 ended in Barclays Premier League on Sunday. Chelsea held the lead by defeating Newcastle United 3-0 in London thanks to a hat-trick by their Belgian attacking midfielder Eden Hazard.

Runners-up Arsenal surrendered to Liverpool in an away match played on Saturday. Liverpool finished the job in the first half by scoring four goals. Liverpool known as "the Reds" made a flying start with their Slovakian centre-back Martin Skrtel's header in the first minute of the match, nine minutes later Skrtel doubled the score.  In the 16th minute Liverpool's 19-year-old wing forward Raheem Sterling scored the third goal for his team. Four minutes after the third goal, Liverpool's forward Daniel Sturridge scored and the first half was over 4-0. While in the 52nd minute of the second half, Liverpool's Sterling scored again 5-0, the consolation goal for Arsenal came from their Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta scoring from a penalty kick and the match ended 5-1 in favor of Liverpool.

While Manchester City drew against Norwich City 0-0, Manchester's other legandary team, Manchester United missed the winning chance in injury time against Fulham who are at the bottom of the league table. Man U (Red Devils) were shocked by a late equaliser scored by Fulham's forward Darren Bent. Red Devils' English central midfielder Michael Carrick scored the leading goal for United in the 80th minute, however, the match at Old Trafford ended 2-2.
