French Ligue 1 club Metz signed experienced French winger Florent Malouda on a free transfer basis on Friday.
Metz confirmed the new signing on their official Twitter account, and said the 34-year-old French player signed a one-year-contract with the French club. So far, his annual salary has not been announced.
Malouda started his professional football career at French club Chateauroux in 1996, and played for Guingamp and Olympique Lyon.
In 2007, he was purchased by English Premier League giants Chelsea. The experienced winger played for Turkish team Trabzonspor last season where he scored seven goals in 29 matches.
Malouda was released by the Turkish side in late August, after getting into a fist fight with his coach Vahid Halilhodzic.
