Ersun Yanal has been appointed as the new coach of Turkish football club Fenerbahce.

The club signed a contract with the Turkish coach Yanal for one-and-a-half years, Fenerbahce announced on Friday.

He previously served as the team coach in 2013-14 during which they won the Turkish league championship.

On Oct. 28, Fenerbahce dismissed its Dutch manager Phillip Cocu from duty after a 3-1 loss to Ankaragucu.

Cocu was the 72nd manager of Fenerbahce and the team's 38th foreign manager to take over managerial duties in the club.

Since then, Cocu's assistant coach Erwin Koeman took over his duty.
