ANKARA

Turkish football club Besiktas signed Spanish defender Victor Ruiz Torre on Wednesday.

The Istanbul club said on its website that Ruiz signed a three-year deal which will keep him at Vodafone Park until 2022.

Ruiz, 30, is expected to play alongside Croatian center back Domagoj Vida.

He previously played for many Spanish clubs such as Espanyol, Valencia and Villarreal.

Additionally, Ruiz was a Napoli player in 2011, spending six months with the Italian club.

Last season, he played 33 matches for Villarreal.
