Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic on Friday bade farewell to Turkish football club Besiktas.

"Besiktas… The time arrives to say goodbye. It was too fast. I am sad to leave all of you. I discovered beautiful people, a fantastic club and especially the best fans and atmosphere. It was an honour to play in our stadium as well," Pjanic said on Instagram.

"I will forever be a fan of this club, me, my son and my family...
I am sure that in the future we will see us again. You will always be in the deepest of my heart. I love you all.

"Once an Eagle, always an Eagle," the 32-year-old said.

Eagle is the mascot of Besiktas.

In September 2021, Besiktas signed Pjanic on loan from Barcelona.

Before Barcelona, Pjanic had played for French club Olympique Lyon, and Italy's Roma, and Juventus.

He spent four trophy-laden seasons at Juventus.

Pjanic had joined Barcelona in 2020, and his deal with the Spanish club will expire in 2024. So, he is expected to return to the Spanish La Liga club in a short while.

He had 26 appearances this season, but he was unable to score for Besiktas.

The Bosnian international made four assists in his one-season spell at the Black Eagles.

He helped Besiktas win the 2021 Turkish Super Cup.
